One number for the day, and directly under it the reasons it landed there. A major window from 6:07 to 8:07, an outgoing tide moving water, a moderate thirteen mile an hour wind, and the cloud cover, scored together and explained in one line. Marine alerts sit right below it when there are any.

Solunar majors and minors laid over the real tide curve from your nearest NOAA station, sunrise and sunset marked, a live now line, and every turn of the tide timed and measured. When a feeding window is open right now, it says so.

A photo taken through the Cobia Camera is signed at the moment of capture with the location, the timestamp, and the conditions. A photo pulled from your camera roll is labeled Imported. Both are welcome. Only one counts for the leaderboard.

Captured live in the Cobia Camera. The photo, the GPS, the UTC timestamp, and the sensor snapshot are bound together at capture. Counts toward Slams, crowns, leagues, and every leaderboard in the app.

A list of species, a fence on real water, and a clock
The oldest bet in fishing, made checkable. A Slam names the species, draws a boundary around real water, and gives you a window to do it in. Catch the list inside the fence before the clock runs out and it is yours. Every Slam in the app was built by an angler who fishes that water rather than by us.
Single species
One fish, and whoever catches the most of it takes the period. The format for water with one obvious prize.
Multi species
A list of up to ten species, one of each. The classic grand slam, scored on completion, so the angler who finds the awkward third fish beats the one who caught forty easy ones.
Hunt
Several of one species. Three largemouth, not one. Scored on speed, so it rewards a real session rather than a lucky cast.
Bag
A list where every species carries its own count, the way a bag limit reads. Fastest to fill it wins.
A field small enough that you can actually catch it
Joining a Slam puts you on its own leaderboard against everyone else running it, separate from Strike Points and separate from crowns. You can see who is ahead of you, by how much, and exactly which species they have that you are still missing. When the period closes somebody is champion for it and the board clears for the next one.

A camera roll photo cannot enter a Slam
This is the part that makes the rest of it mean anything. Slam entries have to be verified catches, shot through the Cobia Camera and signed at the moment of capture with the location, the timestamp, and the conditions bound in. Import whatever you like into your own log and your Fishdex™, nobody is stopping you. It just does not get to stand on the board. A fence you can beat with a photo saved off the internet is not a fence.

Yes. Every feature described on this page is free, Strike Zones included, with no trial timer, no credit card, and no ads in the feed. Strike Zones is the one layer we may price separately down the road, and we will say so plainly if that changes. Right now it is open to everyone.
It is built for anglers who already know how to fish and want better information faster. Nothing is dumbed down. Tide stages, barometric trend, gust spread, wave period, depth contours, and slot regulations are all there in full. A beginner can absolutely use it, and the daily briefing explains its reasoning in plain language, but the depth is there when you want it.
Cobia runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. An Android build is in development and Google Play is listed as coming soon.
A named list of species, a fence drawn on real water, and a period it is open for. Catch the list inside the fence before the period closes and you have completed it. Slams are built by anglers rather than by us, they can sit on the map for anyone to join or stay invite only, and every entry has to be a verified catch shot through the Cobia Camera. A camera roll photo does not enter a Slam.
No. Every catch you log has its own visibility setting. You can keep a catch entirely private, share it with the exact coordinates, or share it with the location fuzzed so people see the general water without the pin. The default protects you.
